Even though their latest album isn't out in North America yet due to contract negotiations with Century Media or another record label, I ordered the CD from their website.

At first listen, I didn't really like it, then, I started listening to it more and more and now I think it's a great album. Their new bassist fits the band really well, even though he doesn't do Death Metal vocals like Kral did.

Are there any other people on this board that listens to this band? If so, what are your impressions of their new album?

Yeah, I just had a listen to it, and its pretty ordinary.

Sounds like the sound they had on Everblack and 11 Dreams, but attempted to make it more, metalcore/poppy sounding. Its not a good album, just really seems like a money grab at going at what is selling nowadays.

I don't mind listening to 11 Dreams, and the compilation album (Retrospective) was pretty decent I thought.

This band is simple and they are good at what they do. I definitely enjoy this album but I prefer 'The Hours That Remain' and some of their older ones.

Mercenary are extremely ordinary, and I think they got signed because there's very little competition in Denmark. Compared to the metal scene in the other Scandinavian countries, Denmark is a wasteland.
