Lets talk guitars, more specifically guitars that sound sick for metal... What make do you play and more importantly which guitar would you like to be playing(?)
I play an SG elite--its not great for metal, but fine for everything else.
I'd like to acquire a Schecter c-1 http://www.schecterguitars.com/domestic.asp
or an
ESP custom http://www.espguitars.com/guitars_esp-custom.html (middle)

I've tried out both of them at a few different music stores on a few different amps (the new line 6 stacks are sweet btw, and cheap!) and they both shred faces.

The Schecter has Seymore Duncans and delivers clear voicing and awesome gritty bite. The ESP also has pretty much the same aural characteristics just slightly different.

Both are around 700-800 bucks, which is surprising because it sounded better than the $1800 Ibanez with dimarzio v8's. It's funny how the higher end guitars just don't deliver the brutal tone, but neither do the low end ones as well.

I've tried out a few Yamaha's that were also very impressive as well. Jackson is sick, but over priced. ESP also tends to over price their shit as well. Its a matter of preference really, the price tag doesn't necessarily reflect your ideal tone.

So to narrow or expand upon my question even further, which characteristics do you look for in a guitar and its sound? i.e. wood type, pickups, shape, pod types, neck length/scale length, headstock type etc.

Standard Jackson's are not much and they rule, most people already know what brands are great for metal. Yamaha I would exclude but good for at home and fuckin around.

Godin guitars are getting up there in the last couple years. Decent prices and most of them play really well.

around how much are they? And most people may know what brands are good, but the model and the configuration are what matters. If you told someone 'go with LTD, Jackson or b.c. rich' then they might end up getting a weird model that doesn't sound appropriate for metal tones or they might get ripped off. And yamaha makes some amazing gear in general at the high-end. Some of their models can compete with the best of them.

Which part or pieces did or didn't you like or dislike? I don't or do understand what or which part or pieces is so funny or unfunny about that quote. Was or wasn't it the section or sections you bolded or left unbold?

At first, I thought you were seriously asking a question, and thought you were an idiot while I tried to decipher that post, then I got it, and laffed. Good job.

.tif: if you don't understand what I meant then you've got problems. It means, I am narrowing the question but expanding upon the subject as well.

So, so, so bad.

Why the hell would you ask for advice from this board?

You know the reactions you're going to get.

If Tiffany or I do hates in your threads you get all pissy and say that we're trolling your threads.

That's not trolling. What you're doing is trolling. Making threads that pretend to be legitimate but you know are just going to bait people into battling with you.

You're such an attention whore. Did mother not pay enough attention to you? Was your childhood that awful that the only way you can validate your existance is by making indecipherable, sweaty, mouth-breathing nonsense posts on the OTTAWA METAL forum?

It would actually be quite funny if you weren't so pathetic.

And annoying.

You stink, I hope you miss the bus.
