I live in an apartment in ottawa with no space for my drums. I probably need 8x10 or so and a climate controlled room to protect my kit from weather damage. I got in touch with a couple of storage places in ottawa, neither fit the requirements.

its not quite the same, but get a roland or yamaha electronic kit

i have one for my apartment and its great - you can play anytime you feel like it

my rehearsal studio is all the way across town and you can't just spontaneously start practicing

True enough. I wouldnt mind driving a bit to go, but I get what your saying. Issue with those is cost I guess. I have a 5 piece, rototom, double kick, 3 crashes and a ride. expensive to get that many on an electric. Could do without some on the electric. But still :p

Cheapest way to get close to that size of kit would be on an Alesis DM10 Studio Kit. Id go see Dave.

It's something I'll look at. It would be nice to have some triggers for down the road. just need to see if I'll have enough space for an electric, and if itll be worth it to buy one in the longrun or not.

If you have any suggestions still on where to play an acoustic, speak up plz.

just rent a rehearsal space and get a time slot, throw your kit in storage.

It sucks 'cause it's only (generally speaking) 3 hours a week to rock out, but that's what air drumming is for.

Good jam spot if you live in an apartment (I'm guessing downtown/central area) is the Meatlocker. There's a few others as well, just use usedottawa.com or kijiji to find them.

If those options, plus the electronic one all don't work for them... either buy a house or get used to playing stringed instruments with volume knobs
